End of an Eira

Well last night was the end of an era that ended with a nightmare!

It started with me resigning from my post in St. John Ambulance. I have been a member for 14 years or so (since I was 11 years old) and so this was a big step for me. I have been running my division of youngsters now for about 3 years I would say. I can't really remember when I took over leading it as I was more or less running it myself before anyway. Me and that division go back a long way as it was the division I have been attending right from when I was a Cadet myself.

So anyway, I finally made the phone call and said I would be leaving at the end of the summer term. Nice conversation, no hard feelings etc etc. Felt a bit sad afterwards but releaved at the same time.

About an hour and a half later I get a phone call from an irrate Cadet parent who got her knickers in a twist about nothing. She wasn't even a parent from my division! She was from my housemate's division! I was only trying to help her out as my housemate wasn't in and she was just yelling down the phone at me. Now there are some things that set me off and people getting mad at me even though I am just trying to help is one of them....

So anyways, finished talking to her, left an emergency message for my housemate then complained to my boss (in St. John) about the way I had been spoken too.

Not exactly the way I thought my evening would go given I had just resigned from the organisation!
