New start and Page 7 of Millennium Tree

Hi All!

I finally maanged to finish page 7 of millennium tree. I have to admit it was a bit of a struggle as the confetti was just insane! But I have to say I am very pleased with the results.

Millennium Tree - 13 May 2011

As a reward (and because I needed a project with more block colours), I decided to treat myself to a new start. This is Vanity by Marta Dahlig and its one of the 7 deadly sins. This pic is as of 22-May-2011.

I just love all the gorgeous purples in this one!

Brief update

Apologies for not updating more regularly. I am not used to having people following my blog.

I have been stitching over the last few weeks but I did loose my mojo for a bit. This and the fact that page 7 of millennium tree is some sort of confetti hell has contributed to the rather slow progress. However I AM getting there and thought I would post a mid-page update.

Millennium Tree - 29 March 2011

You can see the tip of the large white bird's wing appearing near the top of the page. I am enjoying watching the various parts of the immage appear as I make my way across the page.

I am still looking for a charity and/or agency with climate change interests to help publicize my project. As I have said before, once this baby is finished it will be auctioned off to raise money and awareness of climate change.

Millennium Tree - J. Wall - Page 5 & 6 complete - 24-Feb-2011

Yay! I finally finished the top row of pages last night. I have to admit that all that 310 towards the end was a bit dull but the end result looks good. The top right corner does look a bit darker than the original artwork but I guess thats just the price you pay for charting the design.

Millennium Tree - 24-Feb-2011

Anyways onto page 7 now!

I still need to find a charity to help me publicise my quest. I would love WWF to follow me. If anyone has any ideas or contacts please let me know :)

Nearly there!

I have nearly finished the first row of pages of millennium tree! I just have 4 more columns of 10 stitches to go. I hope to have it done before the weekend but I think that might be a little ambitious. Anywhere here it is as of yesterday afternoon :)

Millennium Tree - 06-Feb-2011

The Link is click-able to get a bigger view. Its not the best picture as I took it with my phone. I find that taking decent photos of my stitching is always quite hard to do anyway!

Now that I am well under way with this project, I really need to get some publicity going so I can find a charity who I can auction it off for. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

That's all for now folks!

Update

Its been a long while since I updated here. Mainly because I wasn't sure that anyone was reading it!! But I have since found out that is not the case. I recently joined the lovely Our Friends' HAED SAL blog and when I posted my update there everyone was so complimentary and even mentioned that people read my blog *shock*. So here I am :)

Since my last update I have made loads of progress on Millennium Tree. I completed page 4 on 18-Jan-2011 and I have already made good progress through page 5. Page 6 is just a column about 11 stitches wide and 98 stitches long. After page 6 is complete I have finished the top row! How exciting! Here is is as of 18-Jan-2011:

HAED Millennium tree - page 4

As I think I have mentioned before I plan to auction this off for charity to raise awareness of climate change and the human impact on our planet. Any publicity I can get from anyone by re-posting on twitter, facebook, blogs etc would be greatly received!!

Thats all for now folkes!

Life and Parking

So its Tuesday. Its 1 month ago since I got married.... (wha??) And real life is really starting to hit home. I just don't wanna be getting up at 5.45 am just to drive 26 miles in the pouring rain on the M4 and spend 8 hours trying desperately to get mywelf into my work. Meh.. If we had just won the lottery, I could be at home sleeping and stitching...
Ah well, guess there is no point dwelling too much. Besides, I probably have very few readers past this blog anyway without depressing them further!!!!
Yesterday I.... ah-hem.... bought the stash needed to start the HAED chart Blue Bird by Josephine Wall. I am quite excited actually. I might try tent stitching this time. There are 2 main advantages I can see for this. 1. being that its faster, 2. I can still use the loop method to start as I can do 2 theads on 28 ct (my so far fav fabric for HAEDs). I haven't mentioned it to Gareth yet. Not because he will be mad, he wont. But he will tease me about having far too much stitching to do and no where near finishing any of them Oh well :) Its a hobby, not an obligation! And a girl has gotta have something to do with the xmas holidays coming up!
In other stitching news I have nearly finished page 1 of Millennium Tree. I having been parking for most of the page and I have to say I love it! It did take a bit of getting used to and work out my own little method variation. Now I think I will be parking on all my BAPs. Now I just need to work out what method of gridding I prefer. I will post a photo of Millennium tree in the next couple of days when I have finished the page.

HAED.... An obsession??

I have transferred by blog over to my new married name :) I got married just under a month ago and right now I must be the happiest girl in the world. The day itself was amazing. All our friends and family around us. Here is a piccie of us on our big day.

After the wedding we spend 10 nights in Canada for our honeymoon. We had the most amazing time and it was the best start to married life. We have now been back for about 1.5 weeks and I still think I am suffering from the jet lag.

Onto one of my other favourate topics... Cross stitch and HAED!!! I have bought a few more charts! In the last 10 days I have bought Blue bird by J. Wall, Euphoria by N. Thomas, Valkyrie by J. Galbreth and Butterfly Blue by L. Ravenscroft. Ooooooooops!!! They are all totally gorgeous. I now have 18 HAED charts and 1 GK chart with 2 HAEDs and the one GK as WIPS. If I was to live through 4 lifetimes I wouldnt have time to stitch all of these.... Nevermind! At least I can spend time drooling over them all :)

I am currently working on page 1 of millennium tree by J. Wall. The confetti is insane and it is taking me ages but I am loving how this is developing. I don't have a picture yet but I will take a picture when I finished page 1.

Queenie has had 4 pages complete and Tea Party has also had 4 pages complete althought the page format of the GK charts is much bigger. I can't decide which one to work on next. I will see which one shouts the loudest when I have completed page 1 of MT.

Queenie update

Its been a while since I updated my progress here :) I finished page 4 last night! I can't believe it! I have 4 pages done on my first ever HAED :) Isn't she looking lovely?

OK, so there still isn't much to look at yet but there will be! Not sure how much more time I will get to stitch her over the coming month as I get married in 10 days time and then we are off on our honeymoon.

I'm making good progress on Queenie. I hope to have the page finished tomorrow. Will post an update then :)

I am torn between using blogger or WordPress for my blog. I really like both and I have people I follow on both. Hmmmmm... I guess I could post to both at the same time.  Thats What I will do until I decide.

I am nearly though page 2 of Queenie and I am itching now to return to my GK design - Tea Party. So obviously it is a good thing have a rotation of cross stitch projects. I have a 5-day weekend coming up so I hope to get lots of stitching done :) G and will be going to Ramsgate Saturday morning until Sunday evening but that still leaves me with 3 full days of stitching goodness! I am going to set myself the task of completing page 2 of Queenie and page 3 of Tea party. I am gonna be busy me thinks :)

Just a reminder that you can also follow my WIPs in my Flickr page (see the feed on the right had side) as I quite often post more frequently here. Here is the latest (and poor) shot of Queenie. Still not much to look at :(

HAED Queen of Hearts Update - nearly finished second page!

Blinkys, Queenies and Calories :)

I’ve had a little play around with the layout of my blog. Took advantage of a free website and got this rather snazzy background and banner with matching blinky :)

Anyways I had a break from stitching the Porsche logo for my Dad last night. I managed to get a few of lines into my HAED Queen of Hearts second page instead. No update picture because it’s really not worth the bother for maybe 10 lines of #310!!!! I think I might do a bit more tonight as I need to feel like I am seeing some progress I think. That is the only downside to doing these BAPs… The progress is so gradual you barely notice it.

I have been walking every day this week so far for around 2 miles. I have been going with my Mum which helps with my motivation. My Runkeeper app keeps track of where I have been other stats which is also really motivational. I find the calorie counter especially motivational :). I’m going again this evening with my Mum and I *think* I am actually looking forward to it. That’s an amazing turn-up for the books….

Porsche logo

Hi everyone. Here is a quick update on where I am with the Porsche logo project for my Dad. I'm really not sure if this will turn out ok. I made the pattern using an image I found online and a free pattern generation website. For anyone worried about copyright I'm not going to be selling this. It's purely for a gift to my Dad.

Well let's see how it turns out.

The weekend

This weekend was lovely. I got to spend more or less the entire weekend doing my crossstitch. I am so nearly finished now its getting very exciting! I have probably about 1-2 evenings worth of backstitch todo followed by the beading. I do need to wash it also which will be very nerve racking. Srill unfortunately I have to work inbetween stitching sessions which is a bit inconvienient!

I saw my sister as well. She came down to visit from brummy-land. She has been up there living with her fella for about 6 weeks now. Mum was really upset when she left but she will be back down for christmas which is only in a couple of weeks time.

The x-factor final was a bit gripping! Sorry - I know deep down its just telly-trash but I really enjoy watching it along with the other 15 million people who watched it! I think the right man won thought. I may even consider buying his single :)

Oh well I guess I best get on with work....

Its been a while...

As the title says its been a while. I have changed jobs, got engaged and nearly finished the weddding crossstitch project. Here is a photo of my latest progress. I am hoping to complete it this weekend :)

I have to say that I am quite pleased with how its turned out (even if I do say so myself). I hope my friend likes it.

Now that I am engaged, I am hoping to make a start on this little (ha-ha!) project afterwards!!

Its on linen which I have never stitched on before so it should be interesting :) Any tips anyone can give me would be greatly approcoated.
